AND, do you have any pics or how you attached the wires to your battery? Have you gotten to use the bumper and winch yet? Seems like its up to
$ 799 everywhere online now. Clean install and looks good! Thanks for all the info and pics you have already given.

I dont have pics of how I wired the winch but its pretty straight forward.
I wired both positive and negative 2awg wires (covered with braided cable sleeving) straight to the battery.

Prepare for a long wait if you order the Scorpion bumper. I ordered September 6 and was told earlier this week I'm about 3-4 more weeks lead time away. The lights and hardware kit shipped separately and arrived a couple weeks ago.

I ordered one 9/30/23 and so far all I got was the box of bolts the other day. I really do like the looks of the bumper since you can put lights in it. Already got my winch waiting.

Will installing any of these bumper interferes with front crash sensors for airbag?

Shouldn't be an issue - no sensors are relocated as far as I can tell.

Of course I'm STILL WAITING for my bumper to arrive :bananadead: so I'm not 100% sure yet!

    Update:

the bumper has been languishing in my garage for a few weeks but I finally got to prep for the install next weekend. I got everything unpacked and test fit the winch - no grinding necessary but it’ll be a tight fit. Next weekend will be the big test when I pull off the fascia and shoehorn the winch frame in.

There are some design flaws to work around. The Scorpion branded pod lights are a pain in the ass to get mounted on the bumper skin. And who packages SAE hardware vs metric these day??? Apparently Scorpion and their parent company

I am anticipating the worst but hoping for the best!

    UPDATE

The Scorpion bumper and skin is installed, along with the winch. Tomorrow we cut the fascia and bolt the truck back together.

For the casual reader - this job is a tremendous pain in the ass and you should probably budget more time than you think it will take

So - we're not done but it's buttoned up

    upload_2024-5-6_19-11-51.png

Again - this job was a tremendous pain in the ass. There's still lots to patch up and finish, including wiring the pod lights and getting the parking sensors recalibrated. I had to disable the sensors until I can get the angles corrected (luckily this is easily done in Settings and sticks when the truck is power cycled). Also the plastic supports that clip the front bumper covers to the fender are way more delicate than they look, so those will be getting replaced.

Would I do it again? Well, I don't like getting stuck :rofl:so probably yes - but next time I would farm the job out. I'm getting too old for crawling around on the ground with a wrench.

Pro Tip: This thing from Hazard Fraught Tools paid for itself and I couldn't have soloed the job without it:

There are license plate mounts that attach to the fairlead and flip up when it’s time to access the winch.

I'm not sure what a "bull bar" is but I need something that will withstand hitting wildlife. I hit a small White Tail last Nov. and it cost over $2200 for repairs -and the damage was slight.
I don't want something big and ugly, just something with more resistance to impacts

Most of us on this thread are more interested in getting unstuck with a winch than wildlife strikes.

While you could probably rig up a supper catcher - I mean bull bar - to the Scorpion and similar designs, it will almost certainly interfere with the parking sensors and possibly the radar module. It’s not as simple as throwing a Ranch Hand bumper on a 1st gen truck, at least if you want to keep the safety tech.

Or... you could mount a front hitch and then use your winch when needed by mounting the winch to the hitch. Cheaper and quite a bit more utility. And being as I'm not "Most of us" I have a real need -not to catch dinner, only to prevent damage. I also have never needed a winch to get "unstuck." As long as there's still a front camera, I have no use for the parking sensors. And the radar module(?), I kind of prefer the old school cruise without the nanny. I'm just looking for a decent looking bumper that will fend off the wildlife (which multiply like rabbits in my neck.)

Who manufactures a hitch mount for the front of a 3rd Gen Tundra?

Good for you preferring old school cruise control etc. but I personally appreciate the tech on the 3rd gen and also want to make my mods work with it.

You may try E-trailer.com for the front end hitch. They sell many different brands so if anyone offers one they will probably have it. If it's not available now, it will be in the future. There are many uses, not only winches.
As for me, yes, less nannys are better for me, especially the cruise control. Many times it has applied brakes while passing a semi in a curve -extremely annoying, probably more so to those following me. I do use it but typically turn it off when it interferes. I never remember to turn on the "regular" cruise unless conditions block the radar and I get the annoying message that it's not working. Trust me -I have had to learn how to turn off the nannys on this truck, the worst part is that (if you don't turn them off) they just continually and repeatedly show up on the screen "warning" you. Probably a bunch of lawyers are responsible for this crap. You'll NEVER convince me that these systems make the truck safer to drive. They are more of a distraction than the huge screen.
And, I'm sorry, but if you need the parking sensors to park your truck... Maybe you should drive something else or learn to use the cameras -they do an excellent job of showing you what's in back or in front of your truck.
Lastly, if you're going off-roading and need a winch to get you "unstuck" -and you're still concerned about the "3rd Gen mods working" -I mean, really? As Brandon likes to say--- Come On Man!

Man, I totally POd "HLR_NM" he's put me on "ignore" for my last post. Didn't know he was so easily offended. If I offended anyone else, please "Ignore" me too.
I'm just interested in other bumpers, not winches and such -not gonna get stuck with or without a winch

@Bruski208 , this is a thread about the bumper HLR installed with a winch, not about the one you want . You could always start your own thread.
HLR, looks good!I have the same bumper, I just need to install my winch.

    Thank you @Limited 23SC

I have a low tolerance for threadshitting - we’re here to talk about the Scorpion bumper and the details of installation and making it work with our trucks.

On that point- I am getting some interference between the solenoid pack on the Warn 10 Evo and the grill shutter, resulting in the grill sitting about 1/2 inch proud at the bottom. I already cut off as much of the shutter as I could and heated the plastic shroud on the solenoid to push it back, but I may end up having to relocate the whole solenoid. This would have been much easier to do before the winch was installed. Caveat Emptor.
