Yup, it’s a real bummer when they’re that young. That’s the sort of thing you expect after about 12-14 years, but not before 10.

Ah if only I had the time and the cash haha! But, I think I'd rather do something like that in a 4x4 Taco.

Isn't it interesting that the first gens were initially sold as "full size" but are now classified as "mid size" trucks?

Yes. Love that trail, easy to get to and real close. Take the kids and let them explore.

 

Let's try to get a Maple Springs group together. I just got over it with all the Coto kids up there on the weekends so would prefer to do an early morning Saturday run if so.

 

That sounds like a blast. I'm willing to join a group up there, just can't help organize it, busy next couple months with kids soccer, other life events. But yeah Anything to get my ADHD boy out in the dirt.

How is it up there? Last time I went up it was all rutted out, had to help a 2wd 4runner off the cliff up there too

oh man i had some muddy fun up there a lotta years ago. some dude came with us that borrowed his dad's rubicon for the day and got it completely mired in that huge puddle that forms up there on the left. just drove in and stopped dead in his tracks, up to his sliders. we laughed at him. good times. been eight or ten years since i've been up there. i also remember someone in a band new land cruiser driving like 4MPH down the road. COME ON

 

I haven't gone up there since I had someone get a little too close to me and rolled my taco a few years ago, but have been itching to! I'm all for a random trip up, wasn't trying to make it a huge event, was just looking another truck or two to join one weekend.

 

Anyone going out this weekend? I am in I guess people call me North San Diego county, Poway area.

I'm a really big guy and I surprise myself that I still fit in my 1st gen Taco. Bought it when I was 18yrs old and probably 200lbs lighter I'm 41 now
