Similar experience to what I found. I installed DW650's at install time with my Harrop, but my first tune only adjusted the injector constant.

Start, ran, and drove great. But it also pinged a decent amount at higher RPMs. I'm sure the knock sensor would have pulled it back in time, but also much leaner than I wanted.

So its a DWR1000? With some goodies to adapt to the fuel rail with 5/16 quick disconnect. Let us know if it holds pressure.

I've been running the dwr1000c for the past 10 months really like it over the aeromotive fpr I had. It's a decent price for the kit and using the stock fuel lines is a plus.

I have a nib Aeromotive because during my fuel pressure hell I was swapping parts & landed on the Ireland Engineering FPR I had lying around from my e30 while I was waiting for the replacement. As it worked, I was not taking it apart, that is at least 11 months ago.

I had an 04 GX. Owned it since 2017. Sold it last year, heavily modified, for a pretty good sum while that market was still crazy (its still high right now but not as nuts as it was mid last year). Used that to purchase my 14 LX and then proceeded to modify it lighly and added a Harrop SC kit to it recently.

The 5.7 is such a great engine. Swapping one into a 470 is near impossible. Just ask the old owner of Southern Style Off road. After he nearly totaled in on that 4x4 tv show, they set out to see how feasible it was to do the swap. It came down to it being easier to use a tundra frame and engine/trans than to try and make it work in the GX proper. So that's what they did. Lots of fab work and they outfitted a newer 2016+ front end onto it. I think they nicknamed it MonsterLex or something like that. They had a crazy suspension on it and 37s or 40s. It would way way easier to drop an LS in it (GASP! lol) and run a standalone ECU.

That's hilarious. I've mused over the idea of building a trail capable tacoma or 4Runner/GX with my boys and dropping in a 5.7. After some internet sleuthing and maths, I figured it would just be easier to body swap the Tacoma or 4Runner on to the tundra frame, hammer out the firewall, and modify the trans tunnel. Even with shortening the frame, I still figured it would be easier than dropping in a 5.7 and making everything play nice...

Yup! That's basically what they found haha
It's "easier" to swap a 2uz into a 2nd gen Taco. Ian Johnson did it to his on his the Four Wheeler show (motor trend).

That looks nice, you get it ceramic coated? You modifying the PS housing or building a new one?

@snivilous did you use the MRP MAF flange?

Steelit FTW I use it on the truck in a lot of places great stuff. For now I’ll adjust the Prospeed box until sniv gets our intake box we thought of done.

Anyone else have e8 sensor failure for their innovate gauge? Just bought a new sensor. Very annoying. It’s only been installed for about 7 months. Got my first e8 when I put the sniv pulley on in feb. Then it went away and the gauge acted normal. Now I get it twice yesterday and it seems shot. Drove around 6 hrs yesterday through mountains. Didnt happen until I ran to get gas once home. Either way, annoying af.

curious if others get this failure. I ordered a replacement sensor from innovate. Wondering if another sensor might be better. Open to comments. Tia

I had the same issue with my innovate gauge. Replaced it with aem. I also hated the way you had to program it/set it up.

You replaced it with an aem sensor or got rid of the gauge entirely?

I feel like there's issues with the Innovates lately, but they're Bosch sensors and I'd bet the same sensor the AEM and everyone else uses. Though I think there's a driver to power the sensor, that seems like the only spot where the gauge might play a role in the sensor reliability, but I'm no electrical engineer.

Yeah I was thinking they’re the same 4.9 sensor but not sure about connectors being diff or using various diff pinouts. Rather buy the arm replacement sensor if it works cause it’s half the price of the innovate. I guess time till tell how long this next one lasts. Not going to keep buying $80 sensors every 6-9 months

I don’t want to jinx myself but I have had good luck with my AEM gauges so far. Coming up on 3 years and 20k miles running rich. The newer X series gauges are pretty sweet. I do like the innovate combining 2 gauges in one though. It’s probably just a crapshoot.

Contact Innovate, they sent me a new one for the BMW relatively easily.

On the Sequoia buying a new sensor solved the issue (inexplicably I did not install it, it just stopped giving the error)

My Innovate wideband intermittently shows me some heater error, only after a start up, more often after a hot start versus a cold start. I was considering a new one a few days ago, I decided to postpone the purchase though as for the last year or so it's been working for the most part. Probably just procrastinating.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    Ditto

I have the aem gauges ~80k miles on them. No trouble

just don’t count the initial install when the tech botched the wire

86k and 5 years on my Innovate and no issues, maybe I got lucky :D

I'd be more inclined to the AEM if it didn't have the flashy colors and ancient looking display, plus the 2-in-1 gauge is nice to further clean up the look.
