Are you asking to meet up late at night alone so you can see if they'll fit on your hood before I install them?

Perfect! Well if and when you do get them and want to participate in this super simple experiment, lemme know. It'd be interesting to know if they do match up.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
While you guys are sticking JC Whitney shit on your trucks, have any of you considered putting V8 badges on?

If you’re playing pretend you might as well.

Glad some people have some sense. I never understood why everyone wants marker lights or pro grills. Sure the pro grill looks good (marker lights are the dumbest thing) but buy that level trim if you want that stuff. If you are modding your truck add useful stuff to it. No one is fooled by a pro grill on a lower trim truck and when I see them I can’t help but laugh. To each its own but never made sense to me. I’m just glad Toyota started stamping the beds and tail gates to prevent people from adding badges to replicate pros

The quality was bad on just the little insert? That's disconcerting. Really hope it's not horrible looking when it comes in. I'll post pics either way.

why do you change wheels? Why do you add a lift?

I added a pro grille because I like the looks and wanted a good place for a light bar. I also didn’t like the dark chrome on my platinum. But I wanted the comfort features that platinum has and a pro doesn’t. Also wanted factory bags which the pro doesn’t have. Is my platinum hybrid with advanced package a “lower trim”?

Why people get worked up on what others put on their own vehicles is beyond me.

Didn’t change my wheels and didn’t add a lift. My truck is stock except a bed cover and tint. Don’t need that stuff as I don’t off road and I use my truck bed often so no point in adding useless stuff that won’t get used. People do this all the time and it’s their truck, they are more than welcome to do whatever they want with it. But I can and will laugh at all the people that add lift and tires to trucks that will never see any off road use. Same with adding touches that were designed for a specific model in the line up to a truck that is not that. I just don’t get it.

You tinted your windows and put a bed cover on it? How dare you not leave it stock.

I agree in some sense… I also don’t lift my truck as I use it as a truck and do little off roading. But people like to modify their trucks for looks, or for what they use it for.

I can also laugh at people that buy lower trim trucks than I do, but I can also just not give a damn…

To be fair, I've never purchased them or held one in my hands, I'm only judging off of pictures I've seen and feedback from few folks I've read. My two main sticking points are: 1. They quality of the 3d printing seems to be below average (they appear hobby grade and not close to OEM quality), and 2. I don't like how "proud" of the surface they sit once installed.

Different strokes for different folks though; if it's for you, great! But those are the reasons I lasercut my own solution, seen earlier in the thread.

It came in. And had scratches on the driver side vents. I contacted rave and they're going to send me a return slip and get me a new one. So I've got em for a day or two if you wanna try it out.

I was thinking the same thing. Lightly shaving down the scratches and another spray coat should fix it. But I think they may just want the busted one. So I'll have the passenger side with me.

Thanks for the heads up! At $250.00, they should be made of titanium with gold lettering! Sounds like I need to pass on them.

You don't have to get it and no one cares if you get it. How about stop being a nosey amd judgemental jerk? If somebody buys a truck and wants to have a cow patty painted on the side of it, I'd say that's all their business and none of mine. It amuses me to see people like you. I laugh because I'm thinking "Thank God I'm not a miserable POS like that guy!" Now, have a nice day and perhaps practice on keeping your own derogatory and meaningless thoughts to yourself. Nobody cares to see it, and you may even find that life can actually be a pleasant thing to experience when you aren't being abrasive and mouthy.

Well my question has been answered today.

Thanks @Reaper1911 for meetin up and letting me test the fitment of the 3rd gen hood pieces on 2nd gen.

Unfortunately they don't match up to the 2nd gens hood. They are pretty close though.

    Here are a few pics..

If it wasn't curved by the "vent" a heat gun may have worked. That's too much of a bend.

Yeah I think you're right. I didn't even know that the 3rd gen has that extra downward curve where the vent is. I wonder if there would actually be a market for this if someone were to 3d print it. I did like the way it looked on my truck.
