It's like my 2015 Tundra brake pedal "disappears" - no brakes for several Seconds

This phenominom is really scary - I've had 3 instances where I go to brake and it seems like there is nothing there - at slow speeds - I quickly try and pump the brakes - but it's as though the pedal is all the way to the floor or has "disappeared' and no hope - luckily I coast off to the side of the road and then the brakes "appear" again. Although I don't believe my foot slides off the pedal - I frantically try and pump brake and feel as though there is no pedal there - I can't think of any other reason for the absence of my brake pedal. Once the brakes reengage the pedal appears as normal - either going up (under the brake pedal) or pressing on the brake pedal. This brake problem is extremely concerning and occurs rarely. Whenever I drive my Tundra I'm always anticipating the loss of my brakes - Any recommendations or advise is greatly appreciated.

Have you tested your brake fluid? Did this phenomenon happen over night or did your brakes slowly get softer to this point?

I've heard that old brake fluid can create a soft pedal and decrease braking significantly, hence why I ask. Have you recently done any work yourself to the vehicle or had a shop work on it where maybe something got jostled?

I personally would take it to a shop and get their take. Most will do diagnostic like this at no charge or minimal cost depending on what is needed.

Robert - It is rare - hasn't gotten worse - and may have appeared after I replaced the front brake pads-
As far as the local Toyota dealership - I have little trust in their diagnosis and service - but may have to to see what they have to say.
I've checked the brake fluid which looks clean. I definitely will have it checked out - Thanks

Find a local shop with a good rep I wouldn't go to the stealership they'll just take your money and say can't replicate or just start throwing parts at it
I've found these trucks have very finicky braking systems they work great until they don't
I have soft pedal on mine and have bled gallons of fluid through the system to no avail but never had the no pedal/brakes at all

I would bleed brakes first and replace brake fluid
    Next
I would look at brake mastercylinder, I would look into any bad or swollen brake lines and all the calipers

I agree and will replace the master cylinder too.
    Frichco-
Could it be the ABS unit? It hasn’t shown any bad ABS codes and the ABS warning light hasn’t come on at all.

@Sunnier, was it you who posted about losing brakes from abs issues? If not, sorry. If so, can you possibly share your experience with OP?

No. Don’t know the reason for the brake problem - no ABS error codes or warning lights - as mentioned above - will replace the master cylinder as a preventative measure -

Might be better if you wait a bit and see if @Sunnier responds. i don't think there was any ABS lights, just momentary loss of braking.
